The Black Pearl King Oyster is a Pleurotus Ostreatus hybrid species from Japan. This Oyster species fruits dense meaty mushrooms, similar to the King Oyster (Pleurotus Eryngii). Black Pearls are beautiful, delicious, gourmet mushrooms, that are fast at colonizing substrate and eager to fruit!


Fruiting Substrates:
-Masters mix (50/50 hardwood sawdust & soybean hulls)
-Hardwood sawdust & wheat bran @ 20% supplementation

Colonizing Temperature:
65 to 80 F

Fruiting Temperature:
50 to 70 F

Fruiting Humidity:
92 to 97%

Air Exchanges:
4 to 8 per hour

All commercial liquid cultures come in a sterile syringe containing 10-12ml of live mushroom liquid culture (living mycelium in a nutrient solution).  The syringe is capped and a sterile needle is included.  Liquid cultures are guaranteed to be 100% clean and actively growing!

Commercial cultures have been tested for growing performance and biological efficiency to measure colonization speed and ensure that mushroom yields produce up to commercial standards.  We don't sell it if we can't grow it and produce consistent commercial results.

Amazing genetics

Nothing can stop this black pearl king oyster strain from fruiting. I even got beautiful fruits from a grain spawn bag I’d put outside and forgotten about for a while. 10/10 would recommend.
